The new inquest into the deaths of 96 Liverpool supporters at Sheffield Wednesday's Hillsborough stadium on April 15, 1989 will be officially opened by Lord Justice Goldring on Thursday at a hearing in London.



The recentlyappointed coroner is expected to hear submissions on a number of matters, including the inquest's timing and location.



Margaret Aspinall, chairman of the Hillsborough Family Support Group, whose 18yearold son James was killed in the disaster, said: "It is important to set the date and where it is going to be held.



"Hopefully, it will be held sooner rather than later, we would like ugg boots uk it this side of the year rather than going into next year."



And Joan Hope, 73, from Holywell, Flintshire, who lost her 18yearold son John McBrien in the disaster, said: "We hope that the truth will finally come out and the lies exposed so that the general public know what really happened."



She added: "If it means having to go through the inquest again to find out the truth, it is something we have to do.



"The thought of it is absolutely horrible, it's deeply upsetting, but we have to do it."



Lord Justice Goldring was appointed coroner for ugg promo code the new inquests after the original verdicts were quashed by the High Court in December.



A damning report published last September by the Hillsborough Independent Panel laid bare a coverup which attempted to shift the blame for the tragedy on to its victims.



The watchdog added that Sir Norman, who was a chief inspector with South Yorkshire Police at the time of the disaster and attended the match as a spectator, would have had a case to answer for gross misconduct if he had still been a serving officer.
